Addendum August 25, 2007- After watching Jesus Camp and listening the director’s commentary it was surreal as a person who grew up in a similar religious household (save the religious homeschooling). Of course looking back at this upbringing from my current liberal viewpoint has proved eyeopening and I can see similarities in the passion for a cause regardless of whether that cause is ending abortion or fighting for human rights… inevitably everyone is fighting for the same cause- to change the world.
Regardless of your belief system I encourage you to see this film- it is certainly enlightening to a way of life that is pervasive for hundreds of millions of people in America.
