You can never beat a Kenyan in a race

I am hesitant to say that this presidency is "history in the making" as I think this puts an unfair amount of weight on Obama’s shoulders to change the world in one fell swoop.  He is not Superman, he is merely a man who is going to sweep the White House clean of the poor political choices that were made the past eight years.  Unfortunately we will have to live with the repercussions of those political choices through our lifetimes and Obama will have to fight to pass new legislation and enact change during his four (hopefully eight) years in office.

But upon hearing that he won, my mouth dropped open and I almost fell off my chair.  I literally thought I would have to pinch myself- I suppose I was jaded from the victory eight years ago when I went to bed with one president and woke up with another.  But with a landslide victory my jaded self faded away for a moment and I enjoyed the hard won democratic victory.

So, yeah, for four years of a Democratic White House… Yeah, for four years of a snarky Vice President… Yeah, for four years of a First Lady who is not afraid to speak her mind!

And P.S.  I am proud that despite Texas ended up being a red state it was a much closer race than in years past… Dallas went Democratic with 58% of the vote in Obama’s favor and Texas conceded only 55% of the statewide votes to McCain- not a huge margin for a traditionally red state.  Maybe Texas will be a swing state in the future.
