Oprah was duped! Not by the ever elusive weight loss rather by yet another memoir author. Come on Oprah, open your eyes! Didn’t the embarrassing situation with James Frey and his million little lies show you that memoir authors are not to be trusted?
This time Oprah was deceived by a Holocaust survivor. Oh O, how can you let a senior citizen pull the wool over your eyes?
Ms. Winfrey hosted Herman and Roma Rosenblat on her show twice and called their romance "the single greatest love story" she ever encountered in her 22 years on the show. I guess the Princess Bride didn’t make the list. Sorry Westley and Buttercup- your movie magic love was not enough to stir the cockles of Oprah’s heart but fabricated love concocted in a Nazi concentration camp- that will drive her to tears. Quick, Gayle, get a tissue, I don’t know if I can handle any more stories about "true love".
Herman Rosenblat justified his actions with the following statement: "I wanted to bring happiness to people to remind them not to hate but to love and tolerate all people. I brought good feelings to a lot of people and I brought hope to many. My motivation was to make good in this world."
Really Herman? I bet the book advance had nothing to do with it. Oh, what’s that, you forgot to mention that a film producer plans to turn the fictitious story of your life into a silver screen production? I guess it’s karmic retribution that the movie producer is forcing you to donate all of your earnings to Holocaust survivor charities.
